Our first project...

Our first project begins later this month.  I have wanted to do so many projects for so long I don't know what project I want to start with.  Pinterest is so amazing to hold all of my ideas for me.  My brain would have overheated by now if I asked it to hold all the ideas I have found.  So, scouring my Pinterest boards I have found two projects I have loved for awhile.  And since I have Spring fever, really bad, my project is great to welcome in spring or even Easter.  They are pallet or paint stick art.  The links below show you what these projects are.  You can do one or both.

I just realized as I am reading through these projects that they are both by the same lady, one is a guest post on one of my favorite blogs, the 36th Avenue. :)

At each of these links you will find a supply list.  You will need to bring with you the supplies you need for the project or projects you choose to do.    You can do this project with paint sticks instead of wood shims.  Paint sticks you can get at Home Depot for free by asking at the paint counter.  I think after 10 or 12 you have to pay 10 cents each.  You also need to decide how big you want your project to be, that will determine how many sticks you will need.  And one more variable to give you, is what size paint stick, small or large.  I know, lots of choices.  The downfall to choosing a paint stick is that you do need to cut a portion off; the small curved end.  If you decide to use paint sticks, which is what I am going to use, you can bring them cut or I will have my saw there to cut them.

That night I will teach you a technique of how to paint the silhouette bunny easily.  Some of you may already know the technique and can go at it.  The possibilities for this project are endless, by using different color paint, different silhouettes or even different ribbon.  I can't wait to begin.

At the end of the night you should have a completed project.   We will take pictures of our creations and post them here on the Persimmon Projects, a blog for our creativeness.

See you there!! Melanie :)
